Indian Teenager Fools Government, Media

March 14th, 2005 | by Mike G |

An Indian teenager from one of the country’s most disadvantaged states appears to have fooled governments, the media and even the president.

17-year-old Saurabh Singh was treated as a national hero after announcing he had won NASA’s “International Scientist Discovery” examination, which he said he took at Oxford University.

However, there is no such examination, the schools he claims to have attended for his Math degree haven’t heard of him and there is no record of his travel to Oxford. The details of his story don’t withstand any scrutiny.
