Tuning in to Your Social Network

May 2nd, 2008 | by Mike G |

One of the features of the social networking applications I use is being able to see the music my friends are listening to. It gives me an occasion to reminisce over a nostalgic favorite song, or to discover something new.

Commissioned by BBC Audio & Music Interactive R&D, and designed by Schulze & Webb, the Olinda is a prototype digital radio that gives physicality to your social network, showing you the stations your friends are listening to. It’s customizable with modular hardware, and aims to provoke discussion on the future and design of radios for the home.
