Tracking Your Fuel Efficiency

May 13th, 2008 | by Mike G |

I don’t drive very much. The car I bought in November of 2002 has 32,000 miles on it, but even I am doing second takes when filling up at the pump. My sedan is taking a little over $60 to top off the tank lately, and it is only going to get worse.

FuelFrog looks like a easy way to make sure your car is getting the most it can per gallon. It’s the usual drill with mileage tracking: you provide miles driven, price per gallon and number of gallons, and the system will sow you how efficient your car is. They also will show you aggregated data on how your mileage stacks up against other drivers in other metros as well as how your make and model fair against the general population.

What makes this different for me is that it’s integrated with Twitter. If you send a tweet to them with your information, for example: @fuelfrog 342 3.239 10.293, (the order is Miles, Price, gallons–MPG) it will automatically record your entry.

If you are on Twitter, please feel free to follow me.
